This winter family favourite is the timeless tale of a boy and a snowman who comes to life. Back for it’s 26th year, The Snowman is a magical stage adaptation of the much-loved picture book by Raymond Briggs and the film directed by Dianne Jackson.
The Snowman is directed by Bill Alexander and features music and lyrics by Howard Blake, including the song ‘Walking in the Air’, spectacular design by Ruari Murchison, magical lighting by Tim Mitchell, and amazing choreography by Robert North, all of which is accompanied by a live orchestra.

What a lovely show for parents and children, does not disappoint. The only downsides: quite a long Christmas carol type song that no one knew and all the kids for a big rowdy at that point as it a lot going on stage. Secondly; at the interval; the show surprises were somewhat ruined when there were spikes for the show displayed on the screen…such as Santa’s appearance in the show!! That was pretty annoying

Attending “The Snowman” musical with my child was a delightful experience filled with joy. The performance held my daughter’s attention throughout with moments of laughter and even a touch of sentimentality. Overall, this musical was a heartwarming experience and it’s a wonderful seasonal treat for families, creating lasting memories of a winter adventure for both children and their accompanying adults.
